FEO Lecture.
At the General-Assembly of FEO in
Belgrade October 2003 the proposal to establish the FEO Annual
Lecture was approved.
The aim is to allow a distinguished
speaker to present at the Annual Conference of a FEO member Society
at minimal cost to that Society.
The FEO speaker will present at
the Conference of a member society which is hosting the FEO General-Assembly.
The FEO lecturer will be selected
by the host society from a list of speakers proposed by FEO societies
and short listed by the FEO Board. The host society can if they
wish choose not to select or host a FEO lecture.
1. The Host Society will advise the
Secretary-General of FEO the theme/s for their Annual Conference.
2. The FEO Secretary-General will circulate
all member societies of FEO [including corresponding societies]
with the theme/s and request a nomination for a speaker.
3. The nomination does not have to
be a member of the nominating society.
4. The nominations will be considered
by the FEO Board. The FEO Board must have the right to amend the
list taking into account the constitutional role of FEO and the
financial implications.
5. The host society will be offered
the final list of names and invited, if they choose, to select a
name.
6. The FEO will pay travel expenses
for the FEO speaker.
7. The host society will pay accommodation
for the FEO speaker.
It is hoped that this venture will
allow member societies, some with limited funds, to have the opportunity
of hosting a distinguished speaker to the benefit of their members.
